"Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven." - Matthew 18:19

The concept is simple. Organize a small group of believers, make a Free Prayer sign, and go to a place where a lot of people are. Just be yourselves, listen, and pray.

We recommend that you keep the teaching and preaching light so that you can focus on praying for others. Be bold with your offer of prayer but gently provide your service. We have been continually baffled by the authenticity of the prayer requests that we have received when we present ourselves. Everyone has something on their heart and when you approach someone with kindness and simply say, "is there anything that you could use some prayer for?" they are likely to offer it to you.

Some Suggestive Dos and Don'ts:

Don't debate - I love a good debate, so I understand those who are going to want to get into an intellectual scuffle out on the street, but it's important to keep your focus on prayer. Shrug off those who want to argue, or better yet, pray for them. Seriously say, "I'm here to pray for you, not to fight. So what do you need prayer for?" Then pray for them and also pray that God awakens their heart to the truth.

Don't preach pray - Don't give your favorite speech or sermon in the form of a prayer. If you feel like you must preach then preach, but using prayer to preach could make your movement seem a bit insincere. If you want to be effective at praying for people you must show them that you want to hear what is on their hearts and that you are willing to genuinely pray for them on the spot.

Do wear Free Prayer shirts - We have found that our bold Free Prayer shirts do the trick. We sell them in bulk at discounted prices to group leaders. Buying these shirts is how we pay for our website and our ministry. Wearing these shirts will really help others find you and will identify your group so that others know who you are with.

Do walk with God - Let the spirit be your guide. I have never considered myself a charismatic, but while praying for people I have experienced the spirit telling me to pray for things in their lives that they did not tell me. Go with this. If you are unsure if it's the spirit just ask the person if what you are hearing is relevant to his or her life.

Do share the Gospel - Be prepared to lead people to the truths of the Gospel. You will be praying for a lot of unbelievers and everyone has different needs, but when sharing the Gospel you must be prepared to do it in such a way that honors the person's dignity and comes across sincerely.

Do invite them to church - If you have a good conversation with a person write down their e-mail or facebook address and continue a relationship with them. When you're ready invite them to church. But be careful. Lots of folks are skeptical these days and they think you have ulterior motives. You don't want people to ever think that you just prayed for them just to get them in your building. So be subtle and walk in the spirit. We recommend that you not make this your marketing plan for your next service. However, this is a great way to grow your church.
